Continuing Accreditation
WEIGH IN ON WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS: (4.17.2013) In keeping with requirements looming on the horizon by the USDE and CHEA for more and more transparency of actions by accrediting agencies and outcomes from programs, the ARC-PA Executive Committee will be discussing several important topics this summer. Program directors and faculty are invited to submit their thoughts on these topics to the ARC-PA no later than May 31, 2013 to a special mail box for such comments as noted in the attached link.
The ARC-PA has revised its accreditation process in late 2012. A diagram of the new process is available here.
On November 20, 2012, , a letter was sent to all accredited programs with more information of a general nature.
Programs on all agendas from 2014 forward have been sent a letter about how the changes impact their specific program.
The revised process is ongoing in nature, with required reporting of data and analysis submitted to the ARC-PA annually and throughout the year. Beginning with programs on the September 2016 agenda, programs will submit a self study report two years in advance of a validation site visits. Validation visits will be customized for each program, based on the program reports and accreditation history. All programs will have validation visit, but many will only have these every seven years.
Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards.
